The Stone
Self-pity feels comforting at first, but it slowly narrows my world. The more I focus on my own wounds, the less I see the needs and struggles of others.
Ripple One: Practical
Today, when I feel pulled toward self-pity, I will shift my attention outward. I will listen to someone else, offer encouragement, or lend a helping hand. Serving others interrupts the spiral of self-focus and reconnects me with reality.
Ripple Two: Spiritual
As I follow Christ’s example of compassion, the Holy Spirit redirects my heart. My burdens grow lighter when I stop magnifying them and begin sharing in the lives of others. Over time, the Father replaces self-absorption with gratitude and genuine love.
Prayer
Father, free me from the trap of self-pity. Through Your Spirit, help me see others with compassion and walk in the self-giving love of Your Son. Amen.
