February 20-Laughter

Learning to Laugh

The Stone

Recovery brings back things I didn’t even know I’d lost—like laughter. What once felt like mockery or distance slowly becomes lightness, freedom, and the ability to laugh at myself with grace.

Ripple One: Practical

Today, I will notice when I’m taking myself too seriously. If I catch myself spiraling in self-pity or ego, I’ll pause, breathe, and try to smile. I don’t need to be perfect. I just need to stay honest—and let a little humor break the heaviness.

Ripple Two: Spiritual

When I learn to laugh again, God forms humility and joy in me. I stop using shame or self-importance to protect myself. Over time, laughter becomes a sign of healing—a release that reminds me I’m free and still being remade.

Prayer

God, help me hold things lightly today. Teach me to laugh with grace, especially at myself, and shape my heart through humility, honesty, and joy. Amen.
