Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed that doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been received by the state government.
The governor stated this while addressing delegates to the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration organised by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation at the state secretariat in Alausa on Tuesday.
Sanwo-Olu stated that state government received the vaccines from Federal authorities at 4 a.m. on Tuesday (today) assuring that the vaccines were kept in a safe place.
He urged Lagosians to continue to observe COVID-19 protocols, including wearing of facemasks, washing of hands, and observing social distancing.
His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile while announcing the arrival of the vaccines, said, “We’re making progress. The world will see the end of the pandemic. Good morning Lagos.”
