The police Force have arrested 16 suspects believed to be involved in series of attacks and murder of personnel operating in the southeastern part of the country.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, the arrests of the suspects was accomplished with the support of personnel in sister security organisations such as the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Airforce.
Mba identified the suspects to include Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy (28), Raphael Idang, (31), Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka ‘Alewa’ (60), Michael Uba (33), and 12 others.
The police spokesman added several others have been implicated in multiple felonies committed across several states in the South-Eastern part of the Federation.
“The suspects were arrested in various parts of the country following sustained, and intelligence-driven sting operations.” He said.
He stated that the police recovered 9 AK47 rifles, 5 other sophisticated firearms, 17 AK47 magazines, 549 AK47 live ammunition, 10 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), camouflage bullet proof vests, walkie talkies were recovered from the suspects.
