PDP governors meet in Ibadan, seeks devolution of power

State Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform have met in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

At the one-day consultative meeting chaired by the Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal they issued a six point agenda that was unanimously adopted by them on the state of the nation.

The meeting took place at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.

The governors who expressed regrets on the farmers/herders clash also reiterated the call for restructuring of the country with a call on President Muhammadu Buhari to summon meeting of the Nigerian Police Council.

They also canvassed for the devolution of more powers to states to douse the tension in the country and curb insecurity besetting it.

The meeting, equally charged the National Assembly to immediately amend the Constitution to give effect to devolution of powers and state police.
