A veteran Nollywood actor, Pa Adedeji Aderemi has accused another actress in the industry, Mrs. Iyabo Ojo of shunning his entreaties to her to have mercy on embattled actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesa.
Omiyinka is currently being detained at a correctional centre in Lagos on allegations bordering on child molestation levied against him by another actress, Princess Damilola Adekoya.
Adekoya had recently accused Omiyinka of molesting her foster child in her Lagos home prompting the police to arrest him.
The development generated enough ripples with Ojo and some other people in the industry vowing to ensure that Omiyinka is jailed for the offence.
However, elders in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood are believed to have stepped in with a view to see how the case could be settled out of court thus prompting the intervention of Aderemi who told newsmen in Lagos on Thursday how he has been trying to intervene in the case.
According to him, he tried to call Ojo who is believed to have some substantial influence on Princess Damilola to explore the possibility of settling the case out of court but added that Ojo rebuffed him.
“I called Iyabo Ojo and appealed to her to have mercy on Baba Ijesha concerning the case, but she slammed and cut the phone on me” – Olofa Ina
When asked why he called Iyabo Ojo and not Princess Dami, he said: “it was because Iyabo Ojo has been more vocal on this case than Princess.”
Also he affirmed that Iyabo Ojo cannot deny he didn’t call her, adding that from the video he watched, Baba Ijesha didn’t have sex with the minor.
