Concerns over Tinubu’s health status as APC chieftain slips at Arewa lecture

Concerns were heightened on Saturday regarding the health status of a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu who missed his steps at a lecture in Kaduna.

The occasion was the 11th Annual Lecture in honour of the late Premier of the old Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, organised by Arewa House in Kaduna.

The former Lagos State Governor was the Chairman of the occasion at the event which drew dignitaries from far and wide but there was a stir when Tinubu made his entry into the hall.

According to a footage obtained by DAILY RIPPLES on Saturday, Tinubu who was seen making his way alongside other guests missed his steps and had to be rescue from a total fall by security operatives who pulled him back.

The concerns being raised by Nigerians have to do with his fitness to function effectively as the president of the country, should luck favours him to lead the nation come 2023.

Though he hasn’t declared his intention to succeed incumbent Muhammadu Buhari, a lot of campaign support groups have been traversing all the country drawing up support for him.

Sources within the party believe he stands a better chance of picking the presidential ticket of the APC should the top echelon zones it to south as he remains a dominant force with the clout, financial war chest as well as structure.

“I think Tinubu should shelve this idea (his rumoured bid). I think what should be of paramount concerns to him now is his failing health, says a Lagos based public affairs analyst, Kazeem Ayodele.
