An influential Christian leader and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has met with Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai behind closed doors.
The meeting between the two took place on Tuesday behind closed doors at the Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna.
Present at the meeting were key cabinet members of the state government and top leaders of the RCCG.
Though details of the meeting are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report but Government House sources told DAILY RIPLES that Adeboye might have come to thank the governor for the role he played in the release of some kidnapped members of the church recently.
“I don’t know the details since the meeting was an impromptu one but I think the man of God was here to thank the governor for the role he played in securing the release of his church members from kidnappers’ den.” The source told our correspondent.
Adeboye had recently confirmed the release of the eight members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God who were recently kidnapped.
He confirmed this via Twitter. The cleric had written: “Today I got the exciting news that our brethren who were in captivity of kidnappers have all been released and taken to the Hospital for checkup and tests.
“Glory be to Jesus.
“We pray for lasting peace in all troubled regions of the country in Jesus name,” Adeboye wrote.
The abducted RCCG members were kidnapped by bandits on their way to Kafanchan where they were going for a missionary work.
A senior pastor of the church had confirmed that the kidnappers were demanding N50million ransom.
