Cross River State Governor, Mr. Ben Ayade has sacked his Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Chris Ettah over the latter’s refusal to join him (the governor) in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ayade has recently dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC in a move that surprised many.
He has since been finding it tough taking many stakeholders in the Cross River State chapter of the PDP along with him leading to many of his aides leaving government in controversial circumstances.
Ettah is believed to be a staunch supporter of the state’s immediate past governor, Mr. Liyel Imoke and findings by DAILY RIPPLES suggests that he seems not to be in haste to dump Imoke whom many have credited to be major benefactor.
The governor had on Tuesday through a press statement by his Press Secretary, Mr. Chris Ita announced the sack of Etta in a terse two-page statement made available to newsmen in Calabar, the state capital.
In the statement, Ita wrote, “His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade has approved the relieving of Hon Francis Etta as Commissioner for Special Duties with immediate effect”.
