The Zaki of Arigidi Akoko, Oba Yisa Olanipekun has stated the resolve of his people to have the remains of their son, Prophet Temitope Joshua buried in their town.
Oba Olanipekun made this known on Monday while reacting to the death of the controversial tele-evangelist, saying Joshua was an important son of Arigidi Akoko who contributed his own quota to the development of the town while alive.
The traditional ruler stated that the call for the burial of Joshua’s remains was due to the pressure that might be mounted on the immediate family of the deceased to bury him in Lagos.
“We won’t take it lightly, he was from dis town and we want him back here!” the Oba said just as he admitted that he hasn’t gotten the opportunity to discuss the issue with the widow of the deceased.
He however added that a condolence register has been open for mourners in the palace for residents and other people to express their condolences.
Commenting further on the incidence, Oba Olanipekun waxed philosophical, saying “God gave him (Joshua) to us and he has taken him back. And I believe that his assignment on earth has been concluded.
“Some people have given some meanings to the last message of Joshua before his death, saying he had premonition that something was going to happen to him.
“If you listen to his last preaching two days ago, you go see that he already knew that he was ready to go.”
The traditional stated that the late cleric was also very generous, saying “Prophet Joshua care for everybody. We will miss him. I haven’t slept since 1 pm on Sunday.”
