Twitter deletes Buhari’s tweet on Igbo genocide

The tweet President Muhammadu Buhari made threatening genocide against the Igbo people (South-East) has been deleted.

Let it be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari during his security briefing on Tuesday, threatened the Igbos concerning the attacks on facilities of the Independence National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the southern part of the country.

Buhari also said that people or groups who are involved directly or indirectly will receive the shock of their lives as they will be treated in a language they will understand.

Reacting to this, Nigerians on social media took to Twitter to drag the President for making such threats towards a particular tribe in the country.

Many slammed and abuse him for pampering/pleading with Fulani herdsmen and bandits who have killed and are still killing innocent citizens of the country, while others slammed him for threatening the South-East with another civil war that killed almost 3 million Igbo indigenes.

President Buhari’s Tweet was reported which lead to the deleting of it by Twitter management, many also called for the suspension of the president’s account.

Buhari may also be locked out of his account for 24 hours and may also face temporary suspension for the offensive tweet.
