Scores of residents of Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno state as members of insurgent militants, Boko Haram on Tuesday retook the town.
Sources say that members of the Islamist sect operated unrestrained by any of the country’s security forces for many hours after which they subsequently hoisted their flag in the centre of the town.
During the operation, the insurgents razed down the Divisional Police Command stationed in the town as well as other facilities such as schools, shops and residential houses.
The latest attack is coming in the wake of an earlier one that took place on Sunday when come members invaded the same town killing three soldiers and six residents.
In Tuesday’s attack, they attacking insurgents razed down most humanitarian hubs and facilities as they looted medical consumables at the General Hospital in Damasak.
