Saraki slams FG on continued Twitter ban, canvasses better deal for youths

The immediate past President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has urged the Federal Government to always put the interest of the youth first in police formulation as well programme implimentation.

Saraki who is a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the charge in a video posted on his FACEBOOK page on Monday.

DAILY RIPPLES saw the 47 seconds long video where Saraki also faulted the Federal Government for the continuous ban on Twitter, which described as inimical to the interest of teeming youths in the country who make their income from microblogging platform.

Commenting on the ban, he said, “Whatever decision we make, we must put the people first. That is why, when we talk about the issue of Twitter ban, we look at it from the point of view of how does it impact on the livelihood of the young people.

“This is a platform where people thrive, it is a market place where people go to sell their products. They engage in business. It’s something. As a government, you’ve got to think of how does it affect my people, especially the most important segment of my population, which is the youths.
