Sanusi’s brilliance and pedigree won my heart, says Kwankwaso

The former governor of Kano state, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said former Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi’s brilliance and pedigree won his heart when he was governor of the state.

Kwankwaso stated this in Abuja when he received a youth group  from the Northeast geo-political zone on Thursday who came to pay him a condolence visit over the loss of his father.

According to him, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi ll brilliance and pedigree was recognised nationally and internationally which he believed are the assets Kano State and the country in general need for progress and development.

He said the former Emir was chosen by his government based on his education and pedigree, which he hoped would bring progress and development to the state, the northern region and the country in general.

“Many didn’t know that Sanusi was my ardent critics when I was governor, but criticism is an ingredient and component of democracy. We severely disagreed with one another but I never took it personal.

“And when we lost our revered father, late Alhaji Ado Bayero I found Muhammadu Sanusi as a worthy successor that will bring development, progress to Kano state via his education and pedigree. Politics was completely out it. It’s wrong to politicise the  stool of emirship.

“Its only known to my successor why he is politicising everything in Kano state rather than development. I draw a development plans for the state that would bring out Kano state as a reference point to other state in terms of education, infrastructure, healthcare, employment and social orientation.” He said.

He lamented the spate of insecurity in the country saying there was never a better time than now to pay attention to education, employment especially the northern parts of the country. Responding on behalf of the visiting team, the leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim who prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased also added that they came
