The family of late social critic, Dr. Junaid Mohammed are to be buried today according to Islamic rites.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the deceased’s son, Suleiman, who confirmed his demis to newsmen in Kano on Thursday night however said his father died on Thursday night after a brief illness that lasted for three days.
His burial is today, the family said.
A trained medical doctor and a native of Dala, Kano State, there are speculations that he died of coronavirus complications.
As a politician, the late Mohammed was a founding member of the now defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in 1976 led the late Aminu Kano.
Mohammed served as the National Deputy Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the North-West.
In 2018, Donald Duke, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), picked him as his running mate for the 2019 election.
