Presidency denies rift between Buhari, Tinubu

The Presidency has denied any form of rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mallam Garba Shehu issued on Wednesday, the Presidency describes the suggestion of a rift as antics of cynics.

“The Presidency wishes to make it clear that there is no rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and his strong ally, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” The statement reads.

Garba on behalf of the Presidency added that “The President and the Asiwaju have a very strong commitment to the All Progressives Congress, APC towards bringing CHANGE and this is a commitment they have made to the Nigerian people.”

While blaming a section of the media for lending it self to the antics of mischief makers, the statement also urged the media not to succumb to the dictates of those it described as naysayers.

“It is quite unfortunate that certain sections of the media feed on birthing controversies, providing a nexus for naysayers who work behind the scenes planting such stories which are absolutely false.” The statement reads.

He stated that President Buhari has utmost respect for Tinubu, the statement added that the duo are so committed to building the APC to a formidable party just as they are working together for a strong, virile and prosperous nation.
