PDP suspends Babangida Aliyu over anti-party activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Chachangi Local Government area of Niger State has suspended a former governor of the state, Alhaji Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu over allegation of engaging in anti-party activities.

The development is contained in a letter addressed to the former governor signed all the members of the Caretaker Committee of the party in the local is dated 29th, March, 2021.

Titled ‘Notice of suspension of Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu from the Peoples Democratic Party, Chanchanga Local Government Area of Niger State’, reads in part, “That the former Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu is hereby suspended from the party in Chachanga Local Government.”

While calling on the governor to respond to the allegations leveled against him within 14 days, the letter further explains the reason for the action as his refusal to comply with the outcome of a congress organized by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

The PDP leaders also accused him of engaging in anti-party activities by fraternsing with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
