The immediate past governor of Kano state, Engr. Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has described the late spokesman of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin as a patriotic activist who advocated for a better Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Mallam Abdulmalik Sulaiman in Abuja on Saturday, the former minister eulogized the deceased for the role he played in the enthronement of democratic order in the country.
“Yinka Odumakin as a patriotic and dedicated Nigeria activist who contributed immensely to the enthronement of democratic rule in the country.
“He was one of those famous activists who confronted the military regime in the country at various point in our National history and got imprisoned.
“Also, the late Odumakin always stand for what is right for the country. In the course of all these he didn’t hide or pretend about his love for his Yoruba race and served as spokesman for the highest pan Yoruba political body, Afenifere.
“He will be greatly miss on a journey to a better Nigeria at a time he was needed most” Kwankwaso said.
