NFF in talks with Cameroon’s FA on Eagles’, Lions friendly

The Nigeria Football Federation have begun talks with Fédération Camerounaise de Football (FECAFOOT) over the possibility of the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions facing off in an international friendly.

According to reports, if the talks between the two associations go through, the match is expected to hold in Austria in June.

The General Coordinator of the Cameroon national teams, Mr. Bill Tchato who revealed the existence of the talks to a cable news agency on Sunday.

He stated that the request is due to FIFA’s postponement of the qualifiers so that work can be completed on some of the stadiums that do not meet international standards.

Nigeria were due to face Liberia and Cape Verde before the 2022 World Cup qualifiers schedule was revised last week but the postponement has put paid to all that.

“Nothing is tied up yet. Discussions are underway with our agent who represents us in the negotiations.

“There, the Cameroonian and Nigerian federations are in negotiations. We are almost in phase and the match is scheduled in Austria,” Tchato said.

The Cameroon Federation are also in talks with Senegal, Algeria and Ghana about playing a series of friendly games in Austria next month but nothing is finalized yet.
