Lagos residents boo Sanwoolu, deputy at Eagles, Lesotho match venue

Lagos residents in their hundreds on Tuesday booed their Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, venue of the Eagles, Lesotho AFCON qualifying match.

The residents who were also at the venue to watch the nation’s senior national football team play in Lagos since 20 years ago vent their anger on the governor and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

According to eye witness, the incidence occurred shortly after the match which the Super Eagles won by three goals to nil.

The fans who spotted the governor and his deputy departing the venue in their long convoy of vehicles began chanting Ole, a Yoruba word for thief.

Eye witnesses told DAILY Ripples that the residents also hauled empty plastic at his cars.

The police had to be draft to the scene if the incidence to maintain law and order but that further aggravated the fans who out of anger began to attack the Governor.
