Kidnappers demand N95m for seven abducted in FCT, Kwara

Gunmen have abducted seven persons from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Kwara State.

Four persons were taken from Abuja, three from Kwara.

The assailants demanded a collective N95 million for the abductees.

The Abuja incident took place in the early hours of yesterday in Kiyi, a community in Kuje District.

A staff member of FCTA, Salami Olalekan, was among the four kidnapped persons who were taken into a nearby forest without any resistance from any quarters.

Olalekan’s elder brother William said the gunmen took cash, phones and a cooking pot before disappearing with him. The three other persons were seized from homes into which the hoodlums broke, it was said.

Olalekan’s family member told The Nation that the abductors called, demanding N50 million for the release of their brother, who was taken away in front of his wife.

Police spokesman Mariam Yusuf confirmed the abduction, saying operatives were on the trail of the gunmen.
