Igbo group urges FG to treat Kanu with dignity

A pan Igbo socio cultural group, the World Igbo Congress (WIC) has called on the Federal Government to accord the now rearrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu with dignity.

Kanu who jumped bail granted him by an Abuja Federal High Court was rearrested by the Federal Government working with the INTERPOL on Sunday in circumstances that are not clear is currently being detained by the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) presumably in Abuja.

Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Wednesday signed by its Chairman Anthony Ejiofor and Spokesperson Basil Onwukwe, the Igbo group urged the Federal Government to preserve the rights of the secessionist leader in accordance with international best practices.
