Crew, 100 passengers escape death as Ethiopian Airline plane skids off runway in Lagos

No fewer than 100 passengers and crew members of a plane belonging to Ethiopian Airlines slightly skidded off the taxiway after landing at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja on Tuesday.

Findings by DAILY RIPPLES revealed that the plane was trying to land at Lagos airport from Addis Ababa but that it missed its navigation while trying to taxi to the main terminal.

Crew members were later joined by airport staff later freed the left landing gear of the aircraft to allow free passage to tow the aircraft away from the grass area.

Officials said the over 100 passengers and seven crew were alive and accounted for after the plane ditched in green area.

The aircraft was finally towed 3 hours after the incident.
