Buhari takes jab, assures of safety of Covid 19 vaccine

President Muhammadu Buhari alongside his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been vaccinated against the dreaded virus, Covid 19.

Fielding questions from the media shortly after taking his jab, Buhari dispelled suggestions that the vaccine has some side effects with a call on all Nigerians to make themselves available to be vaccinated by health workers.

A statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mallam Garba Shehu stated that the president made the assurance saying, “I will like to assure all citizens, and to dispel fears and misconceptions about the safety of the vaccine administered on me this morning.”

The statement added that “After he got his jab, the President felt normal and went about doing his job. If there are side effects that follow, we will be open about that but so far there is nothing of a side effect, serious or mild on the President. He is carrying on as normal.

“We hope this will help to send a strong message among the people, especially those grappling with hesitancy about the efficacy and safety of the vaccine.”
