Buhari orders probe of NPA after Bala Usman’s sack

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the supervising ministry, Ministry of Transportation to institute an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

The move follows the sack of the former Managing Director of the Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman who has been asked to step aside on Thursday pending the outcome of the investigation against her and the management.

Upon the sack of the former Chief Executive Officer by Buhari, the president also approved that the elevation of the Authority’s Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Mr Mohammed Koko acts in that position.

The Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry would head the investigative panel, while the Deputy Director, Legal of the Ministry of Transport would serve as Secretary, would head the panel.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, who revealed this in a statement also said that the Minister of Transportation would appoint other members of the panel.
