Buhari mourns, says late Tanzanian leader served humanity with love

President Muhammadu Buhari joined other world leaders and eminent personalities to mourn the demise of President John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari described his late counterpart as an epitome of patriotism and dedication to the African course.

He stated that the legacy of Magufuli will continue to resonate across the continent for so many years to come.

Commenting on the achievements of Magufuli, Buhari said, “The late Tanzanian President’s courage and love for his country inspired various reforms that generations will continue to celebrate.”

Buhari specifically said that Magufuli took some challenging decisions that reduced size and cost of governance, carried out people focused budget, with clear priorities on education and health, and consistently fighting profligacy and frivolities in public expenditures.
