Atiku floats micro-finance bank to curb unemployment

A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has set up a financial institution called, Standard Microfinance corporate headquarters in Yola, the Adamawa State capital to address growing youth unemployment.

In his speech at the opening ceremonies of the bank’s corporate headquarters on Monday, Atiku said the country is the Headquarters of world poverty, a reason why so many Nigerians are involved in banditry, armed robbery, and many social vices.

According to him, this and many more reasons is keeping to his vision of everybody must be gainfully employed because the social vices are caused as a result of unemployment.

“My vision is to see that everyone is gainfully employed. I want to give people the opportunity to be gainful employed either you have been to school or not, every person has a productive capacity, the only thing is that, are we going to deploy our productive capacity in a negative way or the positive way,” Atiku said.
