Akeredolu, deputy sworn in for second term

Ondo Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been sworn in for a second term in office alongside his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The governor had on October 10, 2020 won his reelection on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) defeating his two closest rivals namely Mr. Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who came second.

His former deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi who contested on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came a distance third.

While Akeredolu took the oath of office for the first second time as governor, Aiyedatiwa took his oath as deputy governor for the first time.

At the event which took place in Akure, the state capital saw the new deputy governor being accompanied by his wife and three children.

Until his nomination to replace Ajayi, Aiyedatiwa was the state’s commissioner in the Niger Delta Development Commission
